Well i could do just that but i was thinking about the cost;;;If i pay $23-$25k for a 2003 t2ooo and rebuild it i couldpossibaly put another $15to$20k into it and for a little more money i could be in a 2011 mack pinnacle and be on the road working and there companys that wont lease a 2003 truck....and what if the feds decide i need to update my emmisions then whare would i be...thoes are the reasons i am looking at newer trucks...plus i will finance 1/2 look at the truck paper there are some great buyes on T660s and mack pinnicles....either their not selling or no one is buying.... I will also need to buy a headache rack with all new chains and binders and tarps thats probaly going to cost me about 3k

Maybe. Maybe not. If Mack's are like the others, you might be getting towed to the shop for another unplanned $5,000 repair. You might find that in more lucrative segments of the industry deliveries are time sensitive and without a reliable truck, you won't get those loads.

Valid point I suppose. I guess I wouldn't want to work for them anyway.

If, if, if. That day may never come.

I'm saying I don't know anything about Mack. Don't know anyone who has one. Just saying if they are like the others, they are crap.

Really... It all boils down to what you feel more comfortable with.

Buying an older truck is always a hit or miss, just make sure you do all your homeworks before buying older equipement.

When I bought my first truck it had 12 years, in good shape, good price and most of all, geared for what I wanted to do!

Buy the right setup for what you are doing, dont just look at the price.

Careful, the economy is shaky as heck now, freight may collapse.

Buying any truck is a gamble I plan on dooing my homework and them some
I have been looking at a lot of truckd newer and older I realy dont wand a freightliner but if the rite one landed on my lap i would concider it

I am not opposed to an older truck but i like a clean truck not a rustbucket....
I hear that term alot what is the right setup ? i have been looking at duble bunk sleepers, aero hoods, cummins or mack motors,13 speed with 355 rears and a APU....the only reason i didnt mension detroit is theie are not popular in Macks or KW t2000 or T600/660s i also will buy a new composit trailer the price of used is too high

Hehe just bought 5 new dd15 Cascadia. Between 40k and 20 k miles put on them by my drivers. Nothing is loose yet ;)
A Friend of mine is always saying, whenever you buy a freightliner, they should give you a free box of screws because the interior is going to fall apart.

Flat top, mid, full, gear ratio, transmissikn, engine combo. Whatever is going to get you the most mpg.
Buying a truckcheaper isnt worth loosing mpg over the years.

    earnies2 Thanks this.
