Not to bust anybody's cajones, but this seems pretty telling of Cardinal logistics. Unless it's not the same Cardinal. image.jpg

No, it's your truck. The financing is in your name and financed just like any 0/0 finances his truck. Difference is the downpayment is only $2000.00 and Cardinal helps you find a bank or whatever to finance it. That's the way it was when I went through their presentation. They bought out a company I worked for and wanted most everyone to be 0/0's and most of the drivers did it. I didn't because I found a hazmat/tanker company I liked better as a company driver.
That's the way it worked then; don't know if it's the same now or not.

    Stringb8n Thanks this.

Oh I see. But you're still stuck with that carrier, until the truck is paid off? I was going to talk to them, but ended up not even contacting them. Quality Companies leases, you can take the truck to a different carrier if things don't pan out with the initial one you lease through. Provided you don't owe the company you were with originally money, which I think doesn't make much sense. But whatever.

I don't know how it works now; before you could leave with your truck at any time. If it's now a "lease-purchase" then probably stuck with the company. Things change fast because all companies are in it for the money and they do what's most profitable for the company. Personally, I would try to save enough for a downpayment then lease on to a company like Farm2Fleet.

I gotcha now. And when I said go to another carrier with Quality Lease, I forgot to mention it has to be another carrier in their network. Cardinal may have changed it up. You're right, probably lost a lot on guys that didn't run, or couldn't make it work for them, or the driver would just take the truck elsewhere.

If I'm not mistaken, looking at their website, Cardinal is an affiliate of greatwide.

Oh do they? That's nuts. Some of these companies you wouldn't think are big enough to buy anything and then they buy one that you'd think is bigger than they are. Guess that's how it goes though.
