He is by no means the first LEO to join us here. You do realize that, right?
So exactly what has he said where his credibility needs to be called into question?
....Because I'm not seeing it.

I'm not questioning any of his statements. I said to expect EVERYONE to agree with his statements is unreasonable. And I questioned the logic of the statement about someone disagreeing equals lack of respect for law enforcement.truckon Thanks this.

I take it you're referring to post #35?
If so, then he is right about that. Generally, vets are appreciated by society as a whole while LEOs are not, and that comes from far more than simply a difference of opinion. -
No need to go get more popcorn now
Big_D409 Thanks this. -
I'm not sure which post number it was, my phone doesn't show that, but it was the first one I quoted in the thread. And I wasn't speaking of society as a whole, it was thread specific. I didn't see anyone showing a lack of respect for the uniform. I saw people staying different opinions on the topic that was being talked about. That's why I said having a different opinion does not equal disrespect. put another way, if I disagree with my doctors diagnosis and get a second opinion it does not equate to having a general feeling of disrespect for people in the medical professions.
Side note: it's completely possible I'm falling in properly communicating the thoughts and ideas I'm trying to convey here. I've definitely been guilty of that before.truckon and CanadianVaquero Thank this. -
Well, I'm guessing that T2T wasn't interpreting your statements the way you're apparently thinking he was.
No need to make a mountain out of a molehill if it can be avoided.

Have you ever visually noted a speeder coming into town but when you got him on radar he wasn't speeding so you followed him outside of town and radared him at 55 pulled him over and said you zapped in in the 30 zone? Ever know anyone to do that in your 20 years?truckon Thanks this.

Not getting smart with anyone but Trooper 2 trucker I can easily throw off a radar or lidar device.
Then if you did get a reading I would talk my way out of it in court.
Laser or Lidar gun light can be absorbed, reflected, blocked or returned to the device in many numbers of different ways. Some commercial but all mostly legal since it is legal to play with light but not radiation.
Laser jammers do work when installed and used properly.
The radar device can be jammed and thrown off. The 2 mile rule for different or oversized tires isnt lets just say accurate. Thats the throw off part. The jamming part is also simple but illegal. Just get a ham radio or cb with the ability to transmit FM. Then with a good radar detector you will get an early warning from the trooper tracking other vehicles. That usually happens instant on or not. When you know your getting close enough for the trooper to get a reading then key the radio set to FM and that will cause a chirp in the radar device. Keying the radio in cycles will do the trick. In reality you only have to do this untill you slow down then I willl give you your reading. So lets picture this. A trooper running radar on a moving target with different size tires, coming off a curve or hill and an FM chirp all in one. Not gonna get an accurate reading. Now I realize all this is not proven but the state didnt prove it either. The millitary on the other hand has proven it. Currently lidar devices are quickly tested by a few different means before an officer goes out to use it. This testing may include shooting the gun at a target with a known distance or a target with a known speed. Hog wash. The fact of the maatter is this. Lidar and laser guns have a set of fixed crosshairs. Millitary standards dictate that fixed crosshairs have a service lifespan. The law enforcment laser gun has most likely been used for years without checking the cross hairs that are not adjustable. The same gun has most likely been used by more than one officer so you dont know if the gun has been dropped or ETC That means in real life the gun at a distance of say 330 yards could actually be shooting at one target and imaging another. That also goes for guns so that cant be denied. I would even go so far as to say that 99% of all lidar tickets are illegal even if the vehicle was speeding. All lidar tickets are not accurate although I must admit not by much. They do work but they are really not legal in many many states which is ignored by the courts. All that said speeding is hyper dangerous and it is best just to drive right.
