I was about to say then I saw your edit.
104k a yr home weekly to spend it versus 60-70k a yr mega never home. Why ppl want to team with megas is beyond me. If I was to team, LTL hands down.

Cheaper that's what it is all about. Will the price of a loaf of bread go down. Heck no, the CEO and his buddies need raises and bonuses. Lets not forget those excessive union dues, just killers. The best years this industry ever saw were when the Teamsters represented all phases of the business. Junior Hoffa would not make a pimple on his fathers ___ The old man had a set of cast iron___. You think he didn't go to that meeting knowing full well he may well not make it out of it. Those guys have a saying don't take no crap from anybody, they can only kill you once.

I believe I read in their new contract. Summary . ABF is allowed to use outside contract truckers to grab new market share . That they cant get otherwise. I assume that means their own drivers cant do it, or they c
cant hire fast enough, in a timely manner. To do it. -
My math is screwed up or 58 cpm is not $2000 gross a week on 6800 miles. -
The pay might be "good" but the hometime sucks. Teams won't do it cause the home/work life balance is terrible. And really 58 cpm is not enough to bother with doubles.
Worked for a LTL company so speaking from experience.HorseShoe Thanks this. -
ABF is a union company right? Teamsters are getting weak if they let that happen. Doesn't suprise me, I wonder how much ABF paid Hoffa for their contract
TruckDuo Thanks this. -
If they're doing this to save money, they probably wouldn't be training new drivers. And in my area, they're training new drivers.
So any of you new guys in northeast Ohio that want to start local and make money, here's your chance. I don't know much about ABF, but from what I do know, I have a very positive impression.
Edit to add: I hate when I respond to a 600 year old thread that someone dug up lol, oh well~
