So I was in truck on truck stop and I saw someone jumped on the trailer and was looking into the cars, I grabbed pulling iron bar and jumped from trailer, the guy apologized and left, I don't know what was his intentions may be he just liked the range rover or he wanted to rob it. I thought truck stop is safe place to park but does not look like it is 100% safe. I don't carry much cash, I always deposit it into the account and only carry under 1000, so what is the best way to deal with robbers.

Don't sleep on rest areas, don't sleep in walmart parking lots, but are truck stops really safe?

What are legal weapons to keep in the truck?

Nowhere is safe, anymore. I always have my head on a swivel, trying to see everything around me and my truck at all times. Ive had things stolen off my truck. And I was followed across the parking lot after using the ATM machine in the building one time. I made it to my truck, and got out my winch bar like I was checking my load. He changed directions, like he hadnt just been following me. That guy had no business on your truck, and most likely had bad intentions. The way things are anymore, if he had fallen and gotten hurt, he'd probably have tried to sue you for not having fall protection.

I rarely sleep in truck stops unless its a small indy......The indys tend to draw owner/ops and people like me who want nothing to do with the new breed steering wheel holders and everything they bring with them....Mega truck stops draw mega fleeters..
In 22 years of long haul I've never had an issue with robbed, but I'm also 6'8" 250ish...People tend to leave me alone for whatever reason..

Only weapons I carry are a bad attitude and a big mouth..

Be carefull where you park and keep your guard up at all times..

.380 ruger in my pocket at all times but that's only if someone is threatening my life of course. For the situation you described the winch bar is great for breaking legs or arms. And I'm not above throwing an old pocketknife on the ground before the cops get there saying the pos pulled it on me just to make sure no charges come my way
