Yes those fox bodies were great cars back in their time. But what from many tuners have told me that 5.0 block seems to have long term reliability issues when tuned into the 500hp range. But its not just the engine also the drive shaft, clutch, I would imagine the fuel system ,and the T5 transmission in those cars that seem to be on the limit at that hp level. Now I say long term reliability issues and how long the cars gonna last at that hp level is going to depend on how you drive the car and what you do with it. But one thing is for certain no one I've ever heard is getting much over 300hp out of a fox body without boost or NOS and you're correct there's no magic chip, even though we wish there were that would be great. It cost lots and lots of money to boost a car properly and then do all the supporting mods needed to handle the power. Now I say all that because even at 500hp and with the extra police equipment I would guess the fox body would be at 4000lbs conservatively, vs a gixxer mine is at 600lbs with me on it and 157rwhp. Giving the car a 1hp/8lbs power to weight ratio vs the bikes 1hp/4lbs power to weight ratio so it still wouldn't be contest. Now the bikes do make less torque(about 80ftlbs in a 1000cc) than the cars so that's a factor as well but what were seeing is a car that's in the 800hp and 700-800ftlbs torque range are capable of running with the 1000cc bikes. Anyway to trooper, its my fault that I've allowed this to turn into more of a lengthy contest than I want I started out reminiscing about old times and giving you a light rassion over you're career choice as a ticket writer thanks a lot bud! Now I don't drive that way anymore, but however I am aware that troopers do other things as well which are services we actually want such as catching drug traffickers, car thieves, and others things that truly are a service to their community and I want to thank you for for that as well.
