It is simple. That specification is for the sole purpose of hiring entry level drivers. As automatics get better, there are some operational/maintenance issues that are solved. Take a look at the list and match it against the companies with the highest turnover rates.
Start there if you want, keep your record clean, learn all of the skills required to be a top notch driver and you will do fine.

none yet, still got a little bit of school left test on the 16th,

but im leaning toward teaming with USX. a few of my intructors old students came by to say hi to him and were talking to me about it, it seems like a sweet gig, not getting anything out of telling me about it just actually liked it. plus he was about 4 months in clearing steadily 1300-1500 a week. brand new trucks for teams. they got steadily 6-7k miles a week.

If I was coming out of school I would be looking for standard shift. If I had to drive autos I would hate them and like them at the same time. They might be nice driving around the city all day but then you lose some of your skills to drive a stick.

Think of all the twin-stick skills that have been lost...I wonder how many times they are actually missed by drivers still working in the industry?. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching an old master at work on those in a restored or collectible truck, but I have no desire to drive one for a living.

    Progress (and Technology) marches forward.

It's a little sad that you guys are defining your manhood on weather or not you can move a stick into slots with the right timing.

In the future when trucks drive themselves I'll be the cranky old man saying yeah I rememver when we drove automatics that was for real men!
