I never flash my headlights. When I signal that the other truck is safe to make a move I will turn my lights off and on or on then off. Flashing headlights is dangerous because some drivers might take it as a clearest signal when the driver he just passed is just turning his bright lights down. It's a small point but one that could lead to a major miss communication.

I'm talking about flashing your bright lights at an ignorant simpleton that is too stupid, or the more likely case-just doesn't care, to realize they're impeding traffic and should probably move right
Wanted to ask you guys if you consider this a demonstration of "road rage" or just a way of saying hey maybe you should speed up or move over -
I never went over or reacted to other drivers because I was hauling gasoline. Besides that, someone that displays that kind of idiocy does not deserve any of my time. Sometimes I will laugh at the guy and if he sees that he will flip out. It's fun to see him just blow a nuclear neck vain popper. I'm sure it will all catch up to him one day. -
That usually is a pretty good indicator. Even more so if she is driving a minivanStraight Stacks Thanks this. -
In Germany, that is the normal behavior on the autobahn; they flash you way ahead of when they run up on you at 150+mph.

It's not road rage, it's a signal to pay attention to your surroundings. Unfortunately it almost always results in a rage induced response. Brake checks, driving even slower, switching lanes so that you can't pass, etc.
I lived in Germany and the Netherlands for a long time. It's common practice to flash your lights especially on the areas of the autobahn where there is no speed limit (until they banned light flashing). But driving laws are much more strict in that part of Europe and people tend to drive in the proper lane anyways. -
That's the way I've always felt/thought. Can't understand why someone would get so upset about it
