From a planning standpoint, jdmredneck, the timing is right for that load. You drove 354 miles from Ardmore to Dodge City today. You have a little bit of slack time, then need to get some sleep. Hopefully, the load will be ready before the drop dead time...Maybe about the time you have been getting up and rolling out anyway. Your first drop is 655 miles plus.....a day's drive and some change in a 62mph truck. TransAm's logging standard is 640 miles. By the time you deliver Monday morning and jump through all of the hoops for unloading and lumper fees, then drive the 155 to your final delivery....hopefully they have parking ....you should be in good shape and have all of your time Tuesday to move on to the next load.
gntorres61 and Cranky Yankee Thank this. -
You do have the inverter switch on? Try the grill with the engine running. If the current load is more than the batteries can handle, the inverter cuts out I think.
Thanks HTQ. I fought with it for a while and then just did it the 'hard' way.
The truck was in the body shop recently to fix damage it had before I got it. I think something happened when they pulled the side panels off the sleeper, because the gps on the Treq unit is constantly recalculating the routes now it seems. It is just not like it was. And I remember that I had the Sirius preview channel working before also, so the antenna used to work.
Oh well lolgntorres61 and HometimeQueen Thank this. -
How do you do this? Can you send the Empty form before an Unload Request? I never tried it, just seems backwards. But hey if it works, I'm on it.jdmredneck33 Thanks this.

I looked it up an the GPS said 10hours to my first stop but I'm going to take it upto Salina my next fuel solution an do another ten there then drive get on a night schedule to deliver to my first stop which is about 7 hours from Salina then find some where to Sit for another 10 after I get unloaded an then leave early Am for delivery at my Final 0600 Tuesday morning

I'm not sure of the actual procedure, Hick, since I am not the driver in our family. When the King first started, he would be empty and sitting for several hours sometimes for his next load. Someone told me to have him put in for a preplan when he arrived at his final.....not to wait until he was empty....that is what he started doing and it worked....his miles went up and his frustrations went down. With TransAm, you aren't even on their radar unless you need something....so long as the reefer is working and it looks as if you will make on time delivery they don't worry about what you are doing next until you start squealing.
Thanks, Crazy driver!jdmredneck33 Thanks this. -
I would start when I was a day out and see if anything pops up...but just cause you're ppl doesn't mean it's set in stone. ...Ive been in Orlando with a ppl to auburndale and was canceled at the last minute and sat for 3 or 4 hours while they scrambled to get me a load
gntorres61 and HometimeQueen Thank this. -
Everyone has to figure out what works best for them, jdmredneck, .....but you will be wasting a good part of your time on Tuesday when you could move on to more paid miles. The whole idea is to always think ahead and put yourself in position for the next paying load.
gntorres61 Thanks this. -
So true! Things like that happen, loads cancel. The whole idea is to get on the list as soon as possible so that you know the planners are looking for a load for you.
