No company subsidized insurance
No holidays
No vacation days
No pay for down time
No 401k matching
No worker's comp
No Social Security contribution
Add to that situation all the extra work of managing a business and all the cumulative expenses for tires, oil, unexpected break downs, tow fees and all the little things too numerous to mention.
Is this still a better deal than being a well paid company guy? I don't know, but maybe you don't either. Do you see why we aren't impressed with the big $ numbers lease op's tend to throw around?
Do you have a better deal than me ($28-30/hr + all the benefits you are missing + guaranteed pay and job security)? Maybe you do but how could I know based on the thin info of a claimed weekly (pre-tax) net. If you can better educate us on this subject then please, have at.

I pay social security it's called a scheduled c . I pay my own benefit s , I have my own stocks , I get paid bc I work hard. You can throw out your union bs all u want. I pay quarterly on taxes. There is no payroll taxes taken out. I also get paid three times a week. I do just fine .
-
Union? What are you talking about?
And of course you pay all your own benefits - precisely the point.
And what does settlement interval have to do with anything?
It is the absence of clear answers that make most of us think leasing is a bad idea.HalpinUout and Ftti Thank this. -
Look I know I make good money. Y'all come on here with your hater statements. I do fine. If your skeptical then it's not right for u. It's simple. You answered your own question.
-
"Hater"?!
Kinda sensitive aren't ya?
I always here these BIG MONEY claims but no one factors in all the hidden costs - I mentioned a few.
Whenever I ask, the response is almost always anger, defensiveness and (sadly consistent) no real info. What should I make of that?
So far, it just looks like buying a truck might be good but leasing one ...well, the emotion and lack of straight answers makes a thinking person skeptical. That's not unreasonable.
If you come on a forum, expect to be asked questions and asked to justify what the seemingly big dollar amount you throw out actually means, otherwise it looks like empty bragging. Makes sense, right?HalpinUout and Ftti Thank this. -
Go job gunner. It is what it is, I choose to leave n go to mercer, the fsc thing just can't get over it. Plan ur business n work ur plan.
