    After thinking about it ....I believe you are right. He would start putting in for a preplan the day before he got there. He always drove the max that he could drive, got there ahead of schedule, and for the most part, had a preplan before he unloaded. It can make a big difference in paychecks. I also think that once your DM and the planners know that you position yourself to be able to drive they begin to rely on that, and you get more miles.

    Pete? Where are you? Help me out here! I am not explaining this very well.
    jdmredneck, If they have overnight parking at your final, then you don't have to even start your clock Tuesday until you are ready to roll. Every hour of time that you can drive is a potential $18.60 that you could be making if you are available to drive.

    TransAm will tell you that they don't want you calling the receiver but if you are polite and professional there is nothing wrong with calling ahead to ask about staging and overnight parking.

    You can always check the satellite view of your destination too see if it looks overnite-parkable.

    You can send in ppl request before unloading.....not sure of the number cause its been awhile. .but look in the back of your hand book and it has all the macro
