    It's a simple bailment case. You put your property in their charge. Unless they were forced at gunpoint to give us your truck, they were negligent in their care of your truck.

    I agree. When you pay somebody for storing your truck, it makes
    them responsible to take care of it.

    I have often wondered, if I pay to park at a truckstop, isn't the
    truckstop responsible for the truck?

    I'm thinking it's different because that's based on the assumption that you still with the truck so technically it's not put in their care.

    On the other hand if they offer trailer drop services and require you to register at the fuel desk, then that might qualify as a bailment.
