A TWIC is needed at more places then you think for reefer drivers. It's hard to ever pull a load of pineapples, kiwi, or other mixed load of tropical produce without getting into a port facility to pick them up off of the boat.

What will stop me from getting a twic card

Most [or at least many] ports provide "escorts" for those who do not have a TWIC but it's a hassle and time consuming and costs a little.

Also, HAVING a TWIC in hand carries more weight then agreeing to or saying you will GET a TWIC when it come time to seriously consider moving to greener pastures. Granted some jobs that require a TWIC, suck, but not all.Last edited: Oct 11, 2015

Anyone here know about their trainers ? has anyone ever had problems with their trainer and are they ok if you ask for another trainer.
I would hope to think that if a guy is a trainer for a good company that they would have a guy with a little class.
I have read some horror story's on here , Lol
Anyone have any info on this they would like to share ? -
To me, I'm generally speaking of trucking jobs where you are in/out of ports on a daily basis. Many "port areas" are an exercise in frustration dealing with congestion, wait times, poor facilities/amenities, etc. Where I am, port pickups are rare and when they happen, they are in "easy" port facilities. Not a fan of any ports dealing in steel (flatbed)

I can't speak for all the trainers that they have... But I've known a couple that are really great to deal with. Chad and Jonathan are the two I know, but never had them as a trainer. But I believe Chad has stopped with training, if I'm not mistaken due to some experience with a few drivers he's had.

Must be a difficult job being an OTR trainer. I can't imagine ever doing it.

Day 1 in the books. Did my drug test, hopefully the sample wasn't diluted. Kinda drank too much water this morning. Passed my DOT physical and company physical. Filled out tons of paperwork. They took us grocery shopping and went over the rules while in training/company rules
dennisroc Thanks this.
