Hello everybody.
I'm new to this forum and new to the trucking world as I am not a licensed truck driver. However I do work for a Truck leasing company in Western New Jersey and I'm posting here to see if anybody could offer me any leads as far as people/places/companies who may be interested in buying a lot of our parts inventory.
Here I am the parts room manager, I do all the stock and ordering for our company trucks (predominantly Volvo and in the future Freightliner) but in the past we've had a lot of Sterling and International trucks. Recently we've decreased our fleet by selling most of the Sterlings and INT's we had so we basically have all these leftover parts that need to find a new home somewhere.
I understand Sterling/INT parts may not be so much in demand as of now but it doesn't hurt to ask outside sources for any kind of information on where I can get rid of these. All of our parts are new and unused/uninstalled and most are still in their original packaging. We have parts of all kinds including sensors, intake and turbo parts, exhaust parts, interior dash panels, etc. Also have quite an amount of Volvo and Cummins parts that we don't normally replace as well.
If anybody has any kind of knowledge to pass on I'd greatly appreciate it. I can form lists of parts if need be including part numbers as well. Pricing is of course negotiable.
Thank you.
Lots of parts for sale from Truck Leasing company

I used to be in the dealership auto parts world. There were companies that would buy obsolete parts. You usually got about .50 on the dollar.
Not sure if this exists in the truck parts world.truckon Thanks this. -
Thanks for replying. In general you're right about auto parts but when it comes to trucking parts it doesn't seem to be as easy. I even try asking vendors I order parts from if they have any leads but none come up really which is why I figure it wouldn't hurt to come ask here.
MJ1657 Thanks this. -
Ebay

I put in a couple random part numbers on Ebay but didn't find any old listings but it wouldn't hurt to try anyway. Thanks

Hi Josh,
You are at the right place(truckers), but result probably would be less interesting, than you expect.
Based on your situation it may be Ebay and other similar sites, as Bakerman suggested or it may be way MJ1657 have mentioned.
What volume are you talking about? Is it 100 SKUs/200 ea total and you can afford to sell them for as long as you wish, but need to make at least $x,xxx or with loss no more, than 30% or is it 1000 SKUs/10,000 ea and you need to get rid of them "no later, than next Tuesday regardless of the price"?
If inventory is not huge and you have time on your side, I would agree with Bakerman, place it on Ebay, Kijiji etc and just relist over and over again, sooner or later it would be sold. As you understand people look for parts when they need them, so do not be discouraged, if it would go slow.
I am selling now piece of cable on Ebay, I've got it along with item I bought, I just do not need it(I have another one). Even though I can not compete with sellers from China price wise, I am US seller(fast delivery) with high rating(less chance of problems) and it seems, like I would ship it within several days. So just let people know what you have and relist... -
Anything for IH 4300?

You can list them on ebay, Craigslist or contact dealerships in your area to see if they might be interested in your excess inventory.
You CAN NOT sell it here though, as the classifieds are not for dealerships, wholesalers, scrap yards, etc.

Parts still available?

Would you mind PM'ing me things you have for a Sterling please? Or point me in the direction of a website if you have one. We have 2 sterlings in our small fleet (mine a 9522 and the other a 9513), but just about everything is interchangeable amongst every sterling.
