Greetings all.
I'm not a trucker, yet, but I'm looking to get into the field. As such, I have a few questions.
1) I was diagnosed with Diabetes Type 2 at the end of July. I have not been taking insulin for the past seven weeks with no problem. However, my Doc does not want to formally take me off of insulin until the results of my A1C comes back. As such, could I get the process started (outside of the online application) or should I wait?
2) My license has been suspended since the end of April due to child support. I have not been working since April due to my mother having a stroke. Payments since that time have been made and are documented. However, although it keeps me out of legal entanglements.......my license was put on ice till I can get back to work. So, since my mother is back at her home and will be having a nurse attend her I am anxious to get the process moving. I just wonder if I should jump into something for a bit and then apply for a trucking position or attempt to get in the door with one of the major carriers?
Also, I have no other legal issues and no other employment gaps, if this will help me.
Oh yeah......I reside in Maryland but I am open to relocation, now that my mom is covered. I do prefer Dallas though.
Any advice is much appreciated.
