Why is Falcon usually "begging for drivers?" There's so little info about them on here. I know "There are much better companies to start with" and that's all you need to know.

I think the longest thread I've seen on them was the one started in 2006, by the guy who stayed 3 months and quit.

What's their pay n benefits like? Do you have to fight for your pay? Do they have cameras? Seems like nobody ever posts anything execpt to trash 'em.

Thanks to posters on here, I know there are better companies in the area. Wish we had solid info on the smaller companies though, like Falcon, instead of just, "Big n Bad Truckin? Run, Forrest, run!":biggrin_2552:

    Sure....

I barely squeaked through school and got my cdl, only took me five tries.

And then got my first trucking job and wasn't catered to but was expected to perform.....and couldn't.

Which is not my fault.....it'd those sexist racist males that did it to me....

Falcon has always had a reputation for being a bottom feeder, and it shows with the quality of drivers you see working for them. If they did not hire you and told you you did not have the skills I would have to believe that you really cannot drive or you are a huge pain in the ###.

oh man! I'm a female, my 2 top picks are Falcon and Roehl, in that order! I got my CDL, but cant alley dock for crap! I need training, which one shoudl I chose guys? Spoke to both already, Falcon told me pay is 25%, Roehl said ,36 cpm for flatbedding I think. I wanna stay with this company for a year or 2 in order to get my flatbeddin down pat. Roehl said I could bring my cat when I get my truck. Falcon said no pets, but home every weekend. I would only come home for my "little man".
Henderson and Transport America are also on my list...
I live in NJ, but am planning to move to TN/NC in next two years, where flatbeddin seems to be more around these states. One day I'd like to work for EW Wylie Trucking...

Have you tried Melton, maverick runs a lot of the NE. I would say system transport but we don't allow pets. Then you also have swift flat bed and decker

I'd say Roehl. All the Falcon trucks I've ever seen looked like they were used hard.

Doesn't Melton still have cameras installed in all their trucks? I wouldn't put up with that, as a guy, and I definitely wouldn't expect a woman to.

Someone on this forum also posted that Melton requires their drivers to buy $4,800 of tarps, tools, and bungies. Melton's reasoning: a few drivers steal them and sell them. So instead of firing the thieves, Melton assumes all drivers are thieves.

Can any Melton drivers confirm or deny this?

CRST Malone allows pets. Don't know if they take students, though.

Sillycon, (Celadon) has a flatbed fleet and allows pets. They also have inverters, fridges, microwaves, and climate control systems.

Swift has a reputation of threatening to fire you if you run your heat for more than 5 minutes when it's 20 degrees.

Western Express runs the daylights out of the northeast. They have a poor reputation, though.

Maverick and Roehl have excellent reputations around this forum. Pride, as well.
