There is a subsection of the forum dedicated to Schneider however it is American oriented and when I was looking at the company it was difficult to find information so I decided to star this thread for anyone looking at joining Schneider north of the border.
Obviously I am not here to slam Schneider nor to address the rumors that circulate this and every other major carrier.
If you are seeking information I hope I can help. If you do not want to post and rather send a message feel free to do so however I can not guarantee a fast response when I am out on the road
Basics:
I run out of the Guelph Terminal. I am on a three week out one week home due to the distance between my home and the terminal. I went to Transport Training Centres Of Canada in Sudbury Ontario

terryg247 Thanks this.

Just a quick update. Three weeks over the road and I came back toa brand new truck. Consistent miles and my only complaint has nothing to do with Schneider really just wish I could avoid Toronto traffic altogether
-
Good to hear Terry. I agree with you on the TO traffic. I start week 4 with my trainer on Monday and have my final test with Kriska on Friday. If all goes well, I will be assigned my truck on that day as well.
-
Can't imagine four weeks with a trainer. After a week I was done. Ended up in Pennsylvania which was not a lot of fun. Good luck on your test
-
New truck? Does that mean you have to clean your truck out after 3 weeks and you're assigned a different one when you get back after your week off? Or do you mean you just got assigned a new truck? -
Moved out of the old truck after my week off into a brand new automatic

I have never worked for Schneider but for 3.5 years we shared a yard in Montreal (Dorval). The company trucks there were mostly the older style FL Century class & Columbias (probably gliders) and their parking section was almost always full. I assumed their drivers were home, as I was always in our terminal after midnight and weekends.
I considered working for them at one point (didn't realize up until then that they had Canadian based yards) but, alas, they do not run or hire in the Maritimes.
If they were to implement the Schneider Choice program in Canada, we would move to Montreal in a heartbeat and put a truck on with them. -

Getting use to Toronto slowly. Combination of speed, stupidity and aggression seems to be the motto of Toronto drivers. Sudbury has their boneheaded drivers just not all on the road at the same time. Mind you the scariest trips tend to be between Sudbury and Guelph
