U need to be a company guy then. Hvh and Panther are owner op companies. I dont have a 401k . Taxes are paid quarterly. Everything you've stated is more or less what a company driver would ask. As owner op or lease op you pretty much pay for everything. Don't ask me about rates and stuff. You need to keeep researching or go to OOIDA s home page and ask them questions.

I'm not trying to be a jerk but people like you are the reason these companies get away with screwing people over. Look around in any ad for a company that pays 75% usually all of them pay your cargo insurance for you they supply the trailer they pay for your tags nobody out there NOBODY takes 25% from the owner op tthenales him or her pay ALL of the expenses. Do some research better yet call me when you get the truck paid for since that is what you said the goal is. You will not pay that truck off that is a promise. Ve been in this business for a long time and I have seen drivers co.e and go trying to work at deals like these.

Im so glad you know what i am capable of, its individuals like you that try to push people away from doing what they want. It has NOTHING to do with you, therefor, your opinion DOESNT MATTER.Last edited by a moderator: Oct 22, 2015

What we need is all these low Frieght jokers out of the way. With there high priced leases and I got a new truck I am a big business man look at me something to brag about back home. They ain't making no more than a company driver. And anybody that's been out here long enough noes that. These people think 500.00 a week is money. West of I-35 its down to 1.50 a mile. The Chinese are flooding the steel market. These former cr- england drivers. Desperate living in there trucks.

Looked at that settlement also doesn't say what he is paying on the lease new truck and trailer 1000.00 to 1345.00 per week with Qaulity leasing. And his own taxes.drvrtech77 Thanks this.

A lease with quality on a 2016 truck all in includes physical damage and bobtail insurance at roughly 700-750 a week depending on the truck. For a 2016 truck with trailer all in is roughly 1200 a week for fixed costs. Fuel, oil, coolant, tires, are all variables that need to be calculated as you go. The maintenance account starts at 5cpm and goes up from there based on what the driver wants it set at. All the new trucks come with a factory warranty, and you can get a warranty from quality on a used truck at a cost. If the used trucks have a left over warranty from the manufacturer, then its there till its over.
If you was to get a used truck, your payments would be lower. I know one of the guys i was in orientation with got a used Melton 660 with rack and apu for 450 a week all in for the truck. His trailer was another 175.
The fact that you can book your own freight off the spot market is a plus here. They have over 60 approved load boards and brokers that they allow us to use. They have contract freight with several companies in and around Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, and North Carolina. Those loads usually pay pretty #### good. But the general agreement is you get better rates by booking your own loads. I made a mistake of allowing my DM to book a load for me out of Idaho Falls. I missed the chance on 3 loads paying 1.80 to 1.96 mile going to Northern Michigan, Texas, and Kentucky because of the lag time between him calling me, and then calling the broker back, by the time he called them back the loads were gone. I had to settle for a load of onions paying 1.65pm out of northern Utah to Houston. I Wont make that mistake again. I have already spoken with several brokers at TQL, CH Robinson, and Landstar and all of them are welcoming and willing to get me loads when I call.
I am not under ANY circumstances saying I will get rich doing this. I know my work ethic and how to manage my time and do proper trip planning. This is a chance for me to see if I can build a relationship with some brokers and see if I can make it on my own without being financially strapped to financing a truck. I couldve taken a 34hr restart this weekend and delivered my load in the morning. Instead I called the receiver and asked if I could deliver today. He was enthusiastic about getting it today because they were low on the product. Yeah Ill be running recap all next week, so what. I got unloaded today and am going to be ready for a load first thing in the AM rather than spend the first half of the day getting unloaded. -
And lets not forget about the vacation fund. Its optional, and is only for that driver. They will take 3cpm out and put it in an escrow for you for when you want to take a week or two off. Its there to build up so you can pay your truck payments, leased fees, and yourself if you allow it to build up. And yes, you can take more out if you so choose.
