Buy the Igloo 40qt thermoelectric cooler. If the cord melts, the truck stops sell replacement cords. If your company allows an inverter then plug it into that and you won't have that problem.
We bought a fridge from TruckFridge.com and love it. Here is a video I took of it:

I used this 12volt cooler before I got a truck with a fridge built in. All the 12 volt coolers will eventually melt the plug so I hard wired mine under the bunk.

I got a Dometic CF-018DC. A little pricier than the thermo electric coolers since it has an actual compressor system in it. You can turn it down to 0º if you want to keep frozen stuff. Otherwise, it's like a refrigerator in the form of a cooler. Handle makes it easy to tote in and out of the truck. I rarely stay out longer than a week, so that beats unloading a fridge or running an apu. I liked mine so much, I bought another one for my son's truck. Both working fine almost a year with no issues.
Marky84 Thanks this.
