I bet to the 6 month fresh out of training brand spanking new lease purchase drivers that SNI prefers it's a pay raise so they'll gladly haul this krap.
SNI wants drivers with no explanation so they don't know these low rates aren't the norm.
Don't do it!!!

Different drivers see different rates for the same load believe it or not. Just like Amazon
-
well.......allegedly, we see 100% of the freight that's booked.........dunno about that one......but ex-dispatcher says we see about 75%. But, nevertheless, even so, the rates are just awful and it's not just the FSC......I mean awful. I saw one today coming out of Texas for $.34 a mile. My point is this, the rates are not supposed to go down just because they have more IC's.....the rates are supposed to be what they are and we get 65% of that. It's just bad right now.....I mean real bad. Like Sadwar said, I have never, ever seen rates like this.......

From what I am hearing it is like this all over right now. Not just Schnieder. Talked with my asset manager today, and asked her about the rate drop. She said the csr has not seen rates this bad in years.

We do not see all loads that are booked, that's Schneider BS right there and I know it for a fact.
There's some weekly super high $ loads I know of that Schneider will try to cover with a company drivers until the last minute and if they can't it's one of those last second loads that shows up a lot.
Sometimes I literary have planned to be in certain areas over weekends being I know Schneider usually can't cover certain loads and then BAM I snipe them out with those last second pop ups.
During last winter I did a few pallet loads maybe 20 miles that paid over $400. Found out from this shipper they're always sending out these loads multiple times per week. I said oh really!?! I figured being it was winter with horrible weather they couldn't get enough drivers to cover it.
A few months ago Schneider gained a temporary account and I booked a high $ load (again on the weekend) but load information wasn't accurate. There was management directly from Schneider at the shipper overseeing things the first few days with this new customer and he directly told me these loads weren't supposed to make it to our load board.
It is terrible all over now, I agree our load board is worst I've seen but wayyy better than what I've seen at Landstar with my connection there.
Brokers and shippers have having a field day with the spot markets, it's really bad.
National load to truck radio is the worst I've seen since I started following it a little over two years ago.
That means bad news for all of us.
Bad signs of the economy there.. not counting the phony government numbers.
Fines for not having health insurance are going up, that certainly won't help but I'll leave politics out of this lol -
The rates have dropped I've noticed too...I guess we're headed for another recession...we're the first ones to see it coming before the rest of the public does since we haul all the goods.

Funny thing is there's a scrap metal load out of San Antonio that live loads and goes to Laredo 195.00. Rate has been the same exactly the same for about a year or so.
Would think IF it's because of freight rates ALL rates would show a decline. -
That's right.
Not just rates, there's less overall loads here. Plus elsewhere people are saying there's less loads.
Which I guess would mean people are buying less stuff to put it simply.
In one of those media messages sent to the qualcomm a couple months ago some lady from Schneider said they've detected "some softness in the market".
Some loads rates are locked in contract for however long was agreed to so there's still loads out there paying the same for a while now as has been said. Spot market has really gone down hill sooo if things don't get better soon I'd guess it's only a matter of time till Schneider contact freight is up and Shippers will demand lower rates in a new one cause the market has gone south. Just a guess but yeah doesn't look good.drvrtech77 Thanks this. -
My brotha Ponzi Zombie Killer tells me they suck over at Landstar right now too...

Looks like I picked a good time to get out LOL, although October always sucked as far as I'm concerned. Should start picking up in a week or two. However, come December and through the winter who knows how crappy it might get. Enjoy November and the beginning of December while it lasts.
