Have a friend who just took a job at Werner. They paid more per mile than most bottom feeders and the benefits were less expensive. If you gotta start at the bottom, I suppose it's not a bad option. May as well make more money putting your time in while you gotta deal with the crap...
how is werner trucking

Define good. A lot of guys in my area think they have good benefits but when I ask them for the maximum benefit per year per beneficiary in regards to their dental insurance they have no idea what I'm talking about. Most people never bother to read the fine print.
blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
Were those before or after his ordeal with K and/or B?

Agreed. A logistics company took over the private fleet I started my driving career with. During the meeting to inform the drivers about the change, the rep for the new company kept repeating how great the insurance was. I read the material and discovered it was actually horrible, even by trucking standards. The guys that didn't read, however, went around repeating how great the insurance was because that's what they were told.rabbiporkchop and blairandgretchen Thank this.

Many good choices out there if people would only do some research. People choose the stereotypical "bottom feeders" because they think that's their only choice and the schools push those companies. Example; Waggoners Trucking Co. hires new cdl grads and pays .50 cpm/with hazmat endorsement & passport. Probably never hear about that one in trucking school, but you will on this forum.Last edited: Oct 25, 2015
