Do Prime drivers estimate their scheduled delivery times using the x/50 method?

 

When you get your load assignment, your given you delivery date/time unless its a drop and hook, then of course its run and drop. But in the times where I was asked when can I get it there, then yeah I used miles/50 equation to figure how many hours it would take, that gave me plenty of pad time.

 

My PSD called it FedEx time. Miles/45

 

When I ran flatbed with Prime a couple of years ago as a company driver it was 58 mph on the pedal and 62 mph on the cruise control and 65 mph period for the L/P's & O/O's guys. The O/O's that are leased on with there own authority are wide open.

 

55mph@40ish cpm? I'd take a 25% pay cut while getting passed by church going grannies on Sunday.

 

I wouldn't that's about $15, 000 a year. No thanks I want that money.

 

Easy answer for you. Don't drive for prime. How you can snub the fuel cost savings is beyond me and my knowledge is limited in trucking. If you are a company driver ignoring the fuel bonus is beyond me. When you have an appointment time and the time/speed allows and your option is to piss in the wind and waste money..... /boggle

 

Most would rather HAMMER DOWN , pass everything in sight then whine and complain they had to sit waiting and not getting paid to get loaded / unloaded because they were ahead of their scheduled appointment
