Question about XL

    OK hubby and I were talking about the truck he just got. Question is what was the first year the Classic XL came out? I have found some listed as 89 . Is this the earliest for the model

    If its an 89 that would make it a FLC which is different to the Xl
    The classic xl came out in the mid 90s IIRC However the fld120 came out in 1989, They look quite similar unless you know what you are looking at.

    Accoring to Daimlers website, the Classic XL debuted in 1993. It was build off the FLD120, which came out in 1987. FLD120's were very successful, but some people did not want the aerodynaic look, they wanted a more traditional, or "Classic" look. Which meant set forward axle, chrome bumper and air cleaners on the side of the cowl.

    Definitely not in 89 sometime in early to mid 90s.
