As far as starter companies go I would recommend Schneider over most any. I wouldn't go to Werner ever.

Do you think Schneider's training is adequate? It's only 3 weeks (1 week OTR) I was a bit rusty on a 10-speed when downshifting at CDL school. I am really confused on who to start with. I was offered a job with Schneider, Werner, Navajo, Swift...etc. All those sorts of companies.

Considering the fact that "training" at these other companies consists of using you as cheap labor to run as a team driver with the "trainer" you'd probably get more training in 3 weeks at Schneider than these other companies.

At Schneider the trainer sits in the passenger seat at all times and you do almost all of the driving. At most other carriers you sleep while the trainer is driving, then when it's your turn to drive the trainer goes to bed and leaves you to fend for yourself (unless you wake him up with questions). I think you get the picture of what I'm saying

Yeah I've heard all about team driving. Especially if the trainer gets a few days off at home and I'm stuck in the truck. Does Schneider bunk down at night for that week then? or is it all day time driving? and back to the hotel. Appreciate the help.

If you're going for otr driving then yeah you'd bunk down for the night. If there are 2 students at once the trainer would have to get a hotel since three people can't bunk in a truck (ask my trainer when I started, we spent every night in the truck with 3 of us. That was fun lol. He obviously broke the rules).

Thanks got my answer and then some! I have been Choice for 6 weeks now, brought my own truck didn't lease which was pushed very hard by SNI and SFI and am so glad my payment is low, so far I'm on the fence about being here,
TOTALTY see why SNI only lets 2 O/O a week come on!!! When SFI and the SNI choice people share the same office space Tells me a lot.

lol! plywood across the seats to sleep..that's safe. Sounds like my experience at CDL school. My partner was a guy from India that spoke broken english and couldn't understand our teacher. Drove terribly and the teacher would yell at him to stop or turn the wheel, turn the wheel! Even yelled at the guy at one point "You're going to get someone killed" he said. I was holding the laughter back it was that bad (even he was laughing at his mistakes). Sounds exactly the same. I helped the guy every chance I got though but fortunately for people out there on the road he didn't pass the CDL test I think.

From what you describe, Schneider sounds worse than Werner
