So why is nobody mentioned the issue of continuous flow of bad information from shipper and receiver ie; bad addresses no phone numbers
Incredible wait times
Driving is the easy part of our jobs -
It no where near bad as,it used to be...it's getting better with all the drop and hooks...but what should be illegal is the consignee charging a lumped fee to have they freight unloaded when it's there freight they purchased

Because most truckers don't stick together. No backbone. May I get the door for you sir. No Than Is **** the door and the sir **** lets get together and shut all the trucks down for just one day maybe then we will get long over due respect and a pay jump and then call me sir.

I will agree, a strike of some sort is definitely needed!!!! The way things are now, and are getting worse everyday. Cheap rates, and getting cheaper, hos rules constantly affecting our bottom line, the absolutely high prices these truck stops charge us for anything, tolls just keep rising etc, etc.
But now we're facing another, if not worse problem, this new breed of so called drivers!!!!! The brotherhood that we had out here amongst ourselves as drivers has all but disappeared! !!! The complete lack of respect for one another amazes me. I used to be proud of being a truck driver, any more it's like being a leppar.
So, really think about it, how are we as a group supposed to get the public to listen to us and change things if we can't even stand what our once beloved industry has become!!!!!thejackal Thanks this. -
Strike ain't comin. Come on can't even get 10 percent to vote....

A year ago we had more power.
But something nasty is going on, oil prices have tanked, Christmas was a bust for many retailers, jobs haven't improved, and CSA has proven to be more toothless than predicted (thousands of drivers haven't been taken off the road)
Now is probably not a good time to strike, but maybe to cut expenses and keep more cash in the kitty. -
I remember in the 90s I was a trucking company b***h. Do as you are told or we will starve you out. I never got 8hour sleep back then, Now I run more miles and get 10 hours sleep.

@Free labor
Why do you pull old dead threads for innocuous comments? Seem to be especially interested in one's with the word strike. Trolling?
