Wow... That sucks. I get $15 hr after 2 hrs. Whether the shipper/receiver pay it or not, we get it.
I almost worked for y'all. I was on a waiting list for a non smoking trainer. In the mean time I found a company that I liked the home time policy more than yours, got me right to orientation, and had a non smoking trainer. My school spoke very highly of your company though.

CT is a good company. But we need a much better Freight network for the back hauls. What we REALLY need is a terminal in the NE to help reduce down time. Just like right now. Been sitting here in NJ for 2 hours already waiting for them to load another CT driver so they can get to me. Started my clock to drive 15 mins here now burning my clock waiting. It'll be at least 2 more hours before I'm loaded IF then. Got 577 miles to the yard. Think I'll be home today? Hell no! Because AGAIN another 5 or 6 hour wait!

you ever think about smith transport....terminal in central PA, indiana, and just south of atlanta. good equip, home weekends, no touch, no forced nyc, and a south eastern fleet that runs, NC,SC,TN,GA,north FL, AL and MS.....smurf-316 Thanks this.

leave one large company for another? Cant see how it could get any better. Smith has some good looking trucks but the few drivers I've talked to never really had anything good to say.runningman0661 Thanks this.

Thats one thing I always thought about CT when I was there, put in a terminal some where around Cranberry. Perfect spot for guys to do a trip up and a trip home with only one night in the truck. A safe location to park with a guaranteed spot to park in. Have a fleet of local trucks doing any live load/unload deliveries in the immediate area. Would work well.smurf-316 Thanks this.

You don't like waiting on a bottle load in wilson for 12 hours while theres 15-20 loaded trailers already done going to the same customer?! LOL, that gets old fast.

Of course no one, no company is perfect. But in this day and age of satellite tracking and being able to see where the driver is, or make contact with them instantly to find out an ETA for being empty and how many available hours afterwards, long waits like that on a consistent and regular basis shouldn't be considered "trucking". Everyonce in a while #### happens, a shipper or consignee makes a screw up and you are stuck waiting, shouldn't be weekly though, especially being given appointments that are excessively long after you are empty, or waiting sometimes days to be given your next load assignment in the first place. I haven't had to do that crap at all since I've left Cargo, and I'm glad for it. Occasionally when I'm empty ill be told to head towards some location and call in the morning. But we don't do back hauls at all out of the North East or South East (specifically florida) so its nice to be told to "come on" or "what are you waiting for" when you call to tell them you are empty.smurf-316 Thanks this.

every driver ive talked to had nothing but good things to say lol....only issue ive heard that can be fixed is a quicker shop, and move from trip pak to transflo

The sad part is it would be pretty easy to fix these small things. These wait times could be avoided with better set up of the back hauls. EXAMPLE: Tuesday night I park around midnight. I get up Wednesday and I got a dispatch to AP Exhaust in Goldsboro NC Going to Armouth Distributors in NJ. 486 miles. Load assignment say's load was preloaded at 11:00pm Tuesday night. Cool! 12 miles away drop and hook. It's Wednesday around 11:00am. 12 hours after the load was supposed to be ready. Arrive at shipper, Load not ready. Sit from 11:00am Wednesday until 8:30amThursday. The load was due in NJ at 8:00am Thursday! The real kicker is we have FOUR....FOUR......FOUR trailers just sitting there already loaded!!!!! But as I said CT is a good company. I rarely have to sit and wait on a load assignment. Which is nice. I rarely run NE which I like. And most places I don't have to wait to get loaded. Mainly back hauls.

Miles have dropped to 2350 and 2200 miles this past week (projected). This weekend didn't even get a reset in. Got home Saturday at 830 am (Friday traffic between DC and Richmond killed me again!) and back out Sunday about 1pm. Could have waited for 5 more hours but didn't want to start at dark. So I run on recap this week. I think I will be ok. I think I have become the new QVC Suffolk guy. Makes sense. I am probably CT's eastern most driver on its roster. Stopped at a service plaza in northern MD. Felt lucky to find parking after 930pm on a Sunday. Onto UPS Horsham PA this morning. Congrats to the KC Royals for winning the series over my Mets. Glad for my office friends at TransAm. Y'all deserved it. Have a great week.
