I have the most hated... Sprint.
I get good coverage. Worse out west. Really good east of Denver and east of Fargo ND... West of Fargo it's on roam.
I have 4 phones on my plan. Me, the wife, and my 2 parents. I also have a tablet on the plan. That's a total of 5 devices.... I pay, after taxes... $220 a month. BUT I get 40 gig of data. Unlimited roaming, roaming data, texts talk minutes ect. I need no other internet on the road. No hot spot ect. Works good for me...
Yes 40 gig!!

Oh, okay, I misunderstood what you were saying.

For OTR drivers, the best phone carrier with the largest coverage area with the best data and voice signal is Verizon. Not the cheapest by far and many people choose a carrier strictly for contract terms and price. I have tried others. If you want good local service,.. use a good local provider. They usually offer a better and more affordable contract plan. For OTR,.. it has to be Verizon.
In my opinion the O/O,.. when you need to download a permit, check email for a booking confirmation, revised rate sheet, check google maps, Verizon has had the best data and voice signal and coverage area,.. 2nd to no one. I dont want to have to drive 20 - 30 miles to find a signal good enough to do what I need.
I would love to pay less but I am not willing to give up the quality and coverage area that I have with Verizon. I have tried Sprint and AT&T,.. neither come close in terms of have a signal in some of the most obscure places when I need a signal the most. For me, I am willing to pay more for the peace of mind. I can not compromise the quality of service for a cheaper bill.
Verizon is far from perfect. They too have some areas with signal loss. Usually in between mountains where I suspect that no one else has a signal either.
Hurstmp4694330 Thanks this. -
Not complaining, simply responding to a legitimate question. My service sucks so why would I want to sign a contract? Verizon has the best coverage of all, that is why I stay...

Just to update you all I went with Verizon and Deleted their coverage sucks especially running the i-10 from California to Florida 20 + dropped calls today and they want ridiculous money for their data I went ahead and switched over to tmobile very happy with the service and I get unlimited data and everything including hotspot for $80 a month #### Verizon Wireless

Between my main T-Mobile phone and spare net 10 (on Verizon), I am unstoppable.

Quebec is a dead zone anyway!

I used to have a T-Mobile phone and a Verizon broadband for internet.
Recently I ditched the Verizon and went all T-Mobile.
Verizon has better coverage, but the cost was just too much.
T-Mobile coverage sucks in some places, like MT or ND. It simply isn't there.
But I would rather pay $40 for 20GB of high speed data with T-Mobile than $120 with Verizon.
I have to maintain 4 lines at 5GB each with T-Mobile to get that rate, and sometimes I am not in an area with coverage. But not that often. It's a trade off between cost, coverage and convenience.
And I've noticed that many of the areas that T-Mobile doesn't cover overlap the areas that Verizon doesn't cover.
I can live without an internet connection for a couple days if I have to. But I like saving that much money even more. -
I use straight talk with a CDMA phone(Verizon towers)and have been very pleased but had to switch to a gsm straight talk phone for better coverage in Illinois. Love the 45 a month.
