Thursday afternoon Just about ready to head home from an ATL day trip. Guy calls me up from a referral
wants to get a small bus moved from ATL to ORL.
Bus is a 25 foot 2006 ford E450. So to save being bothered I give the guy a price I know he wouldn't want to pay
of 1200.00 he offers 1100.00 close to 2.60 a mile greed factor kicks in as it will be cash at delivery.
But I''m skeptical of loading as my fold over ramps have a really steep angle and I've had stuff rub
before hauling equipment. Get to Mannheim auction about dark they let me pull in lot bus battery dead.
Should've been a warning but I didn't listen. We get the bus started and it's a real clunker with 550K on gas engine. With the shiny turd clunking I pull it up the ramps and it almost makes it and hangs.
I tell myself I'll just drive up on a piece of wood (big Mistake) Get nearly loaded and guess what??
The blocks kick sideways and bus want to leave trailer via sideways slide.
Still undaunted I try to get it corrected. Now guess what is next??
You got it the 550K motor chugs it's last breathe and dies half on and half off my trailer.
After wasting four hours a couple people there help me get the junk pile off my trailer and I wave good bye to the auction and have decided after my two present trailers join fork and knife factory metal supply I'll never have ramps on anything again. I had enough of cars running my own shop the junkiest cars were the most picky people like you could really hurt a turd with one more scratch out of a 1000.
I couldn't even give this load away I called several people and know had the equipment ir didn't answer the phone. OR maybe they seen a picture if the bus and already knew to run.
I'll stick with my flatbed stuff from here on out I hate cars and have since the day I closed my shop 10 years ago.

Thats an easy load on the right trailer. The whole problem with car hauling is all the people who have no business messing with them and they go and #### it up.

The guy tried to find one of you eggspurt car toters and couldn't . I called all the ones I knew of and none wanted to answer. you can't put these on a car hauler anyway. you need a low deck with really long ramps or a drive on ramp like rail yards have.

Call a flatbed tow co., have them pick it up and place it on your trailer. Same at other end.

Years back I purchased a Mustang in CA. Drove out with my van trailer, called a tow co. told them what I wanted to do and they sent a truck. Think it cost me $85

I suggested that guy didn't want to pay for that at both ends. He wanted to get on a plane and leave the problem for someone else. I took a airservice toilet truck to Baltimore and did that rollback thing.
battery dead and quitting was what made it a real problem. I could've gotten it on but after the problems I followed my instinct to leave it there.

Could load that on alot of car haulers easy. Like a sun county 4/5 car. And they would have the right ramps and a winch.

wasn't none there and I couldn't give the load away. this just proves being helpful isn't good.
I still got to put the metal floor trim piece back down on my trailer. cost me time and money could've been home lots earlier to start the beer fest. I looked up pictures of the sun country and they could clear the over 9 foot height.

I've hauled identical vehicles as that bus. No problems here. You didn't bring the right equipment. That's your fault. Not the customers. Stick to freight!
