I think you're going to be up for a new clutch but at least you can drive it, better than being on the back of a hook.

Yup! All that experience floating gears finally pay off. I'm a night driver so I should slip through the night home without problems. I'll probably hit a deer though.

Best of luck Skate-Board and hope nothing else gets thrown in until you return to base.

    Skate-Board Thanks this.

Had that happen to me as a rookie. Was told to put it in 1st and use the starter to get the truck rolling. I'd think 2nd might be rough on the starter motor if you have much weight. Worst part was going through the PA pike tollbooth hoping I could pull it off again and not totally break down right there. For some reason I think mine was something in the hydraulics of the system between the pedal and the clutch itself. I don't think they replaced the clutch, but I had to finish my run to Long Island in a rental and get the truck on my way back.

    Skate-Board Thanks this.

When the throwout bearing starts to go you get horrible throbbing when pushing in the clutch pedal.

This sounds like a clutch spring that has broken, sign of a worn out clutch.

Don't know until I get home but I'll check. That valve plus brake can and labor was $650

Seen that happen twice. Both times the guy slipped the clutch and got it super hot. Warped the discs so bad that you could still drive it empty with the pedal in. Not saying you abused the clutch or anything, just something I've come across before.

What did you put in for a clutch on that last repair...?

    How many miles on it...?
