Not doubting you but so much experience in a short time really looks good for a future employer....and again I ask if you got that kind of experience. ..why an otr company then???

Came here for OTR me an my girlfriend are Moving To North Carolina Next Summer and I'm really wanting to go to work for MBM out of Rocky Mount but they require 9months of OTR experience, I don't have any Desire to get Hazmat or doubles an triples even though I have an offer to go work for R&L Carriers but I'd have to get Hazmat and Doubles triples endorsements and I'd have to do 9pm to 9am shift

Hmmmm.....I could be wrong but all the local tractor trailer driving positions don't mandate otr....just verifiable tractor trailer driving...just saying

Just wanted to say , My contract may be up over here in Korea and I sent my application to Earl Henderson Trucking just to make sure that a speeding ticket in 2013 ( 73 in a 55 ) would not stop me from getting hired.
I explained that I was not quite ready to move back but maybe soon.

They did my background check , MVR , employment history and said all was ready to go and offered me a job.
38 CPM after I go solo and have read some good things about this company.

They offer a CDL school but you have to get a Illinois permit and CDL and then I would have to transfer it back to Indiana , They pay for some of the schooling but I think maybe a 4 week school like Sage might be better as I hear they get a lot of driving time and 1 on 1 training.

Cons : Go out with a trainer 6-8 weeks
Need to drive SOLO for 2 months before my wife can be a rider
Pros : Seem to be a little better than some company's for new drivers
Run all 48 , which is what the wife and I would like to do

Also just started looking at KLLM

Anyone have any info on either of these company's

The thing that brings me back to this thread is their short 11 days training :)

I am thinking if I go to a good school like SAGE where I can get some driving experience and then onto TA ,s learn it all in 11 day course :( Then maybe that is the way to go.

I hate the thought of being on the road sharing that little space with some one I don't get along with but maybe being with some one you can get a long with would be good for training.

    Stuck in Limbo !!!

Just a question and I am not an OTR drive as of yet.. Why if you are new to this industry and or the OTR industry would you come to a thread and argue instead of listen to what the people who have walked that mile in your shoes are saying?? I am actually looking at TransAm along with several other companies.. I came to this thread to learn the good and the bad about the industry and TransAm. I have done a great deal of research about TransAm and the founder of the company Johnny Jacobson. But the most valuable information for me can only come from people who have had the experience themselves in the industry but also specifically to TransAm.. I will just continue to follow learn.. I just got a bit lost when the thread became an argument.. Sorry to interrupt..
