how do you vent a trailer with out opening the dome lid on a gravity unload only. Haven't run into this but I guess that's what I get for going into the system.
My guess is to open the air valve? Lol
Trailer polar/ Brenner new 2015
I'm hoping the customer unloads but if not need to know.

Isn't there a place for you to hook up a vapor-recovery hose? that would be the spot. Usually on the tail of the trailer. Big orange cam-lock cap.
RogerThat72 Thanks this. -

That'll work then. Check and see if your customer has a vapor-recovery hose on his rack. You want to hook up to that. If not, just pull the cap and vent away!
Edit: Oh wait...you're dropping not loading. Forget what I said about the hose. -

What's wrong? You can open that cap and let air into the tank all day long.

Post a picture of the tank. Some chemical tanks don't have vapor recovery. What are you hauling?
glenn71 Thanks this. -
This tank has a vapor recovery.
Product: Sodium Hydrosulfide, Solution
I'm guessing it's going to be a customer unload but in the notes it says. Gravity feed only. Use vent only. Do not open dome for venting.
Might have to just call my dispatch and ask or wait until I get to the customer Sunday.
I'd take a picture but it's dark now. It's just a regular, rear unloader with vapor recovery. Nothing special. -
Are you going to unload it into a ground tank with a Buck Rodgers, like you would with fuel? I'm not familiar with chem hauling. I thought all of that stuff was pumped out.
I haul fuel, which is why I ask. -
I do gravity drops often with solvents, If you cant open the dome, just remove one of the clean out caps.
RogerThat72 Thanks this.
