The trainers receive extra mileage pay for the time you are in your development period (6 months) and get flat pay so they don't have to worry about performance pay.

I believe you need to have 2 yrs experience before you can train...

Yes I came out of CDL school and had a physical - if you have a current one they take it. You are typically with a trainer for a month and then you are assigned a truck. You drive for 6 mths on a fixed payscale before being placed on what they call performance pay.

Realistically you can expect $.48 cents after 6 months, however you can make up to $.50 if you stay out all the time and run hard for a 3 month period. Honest people, great trucks - if you can communicate well with dispatch you can make money here.

    Grijon and dennisroc Thank this.

What's the running area for Magnum? All 48? NYC and all the fun stuff in the NE? Any NW runs? Since it's reefer is it all 2am appointment with a lumped needed for each load? Detention pay?

    Grijon Thanks this.

Humm, run no further West than Denver, no Florida either. We do not go to NY, or anything above NJ.

Hey its reefer so yes you will have early morning appointments so if that's not your thing then this would not be the place to work. Lumpers are paid for, we don't touch freight and detention is paid after 2 hrs.

Just checking in with you, things still going good at magnum?
Anyone know if they have inverters and refrigerators? And is their rider policy day one or you have to be there for a while?

Life is great at Magnum, there is a Magnum thread you can search through - even a pic or two of the trucks.

Yes we all have inverters, fridges and APU's along with the Peterbilt Smartnav system which to be honest is not as good as your own truck GPS though you can get Sirius and we have Bluetooth. All in all nicely spec'd Peterbilt 579's.
I believe you can have riders after 3 months for experienced drivers and 6 months for recent CDL grads.

    gdyupgal and Grijon Thank this.
