Thank you for your service and your honesty. What do you find so bad about weed? I agree the driver was wrong to be smoking in the truck, no doubt there. But what is so bad about smoking off duty?

I dunno, you test positive for 30 days or more afterwards, with alcohol, you test positive for up to 14 hrs after the last drink depending on intake amount.

It is my business when that idiot is driving next to one of my kids or grandkids. A lot of drivers do stupid #### without drug use.

One of his cases involves a fatal accident, in which the driver was stoned. Prior to Sept. 18th, he had resolved 10 marijuana DUI cases, all with a reduced conviction, ALL involving mandatory random UA's for 3 yrs.

Two of his cases, one active, one resolved, involved CDL holders under the influence of pot, one while driving a CMV the other driving a passenger vehicle. The case involving the CMV was the one that was resolved, IIRC, the state revoked his CDL for 5 yrs, revoked his regular license for 1 yr with no "red license" issued. Mandatory UA's for 3 yrs.

Somewhere else in this thread someone commented that pot smokers aren't going around killing people behind the wheel. Dec. 2010, a trucker under the influence of drugs (they have never fully listed all the drugs in his system) and alcohol drove the wrong way on I-70, hitting a car head-on killing two and injuring one. The couple killed, were the Aunt and Uncle of someone I went to HS with, the injured person was his 9 yr old niece. What do you suppose that little girl's opinion, or understanding of truckers is? Do you think she looks at us as upstanding, good people, or do you think she looks at us as drug crazed maniacs?

Since Colorado legalized pot, traffic offenses involving marijuana in Nebraska has exploded, one of my farmer customers is a reserve sheriff's deputy in Nebraska, the county he works averages 5 pot related DUI's per month, prior to it being legalized, they had one or two per year. Go talk to the cops in Wyoming, even with Wyo. now legalizing pot for medicinal, they have had a real problem with pot related traffic incidents. It's not just traffic related, the rails have had issues as well, the BNSF in Neb. has suspended at least 5 train crews and fired at least two crews for testing positive for pot, one of those was post accident that killed an employee at a repair facility.

I'm sorry, what was it someone was saying about not worrying about it?

This is very flawed. At this time there is no way to test if a driver was actually under the influence of marijuana at the time of the accident. If the test shows positive that only shows that they smoked within a month but they still get dui, this makes the stats VOID. They need to come up with a new test to see if someone is intoxicated at the time of accident/incident

Nope....but my company did want me to do this on my off day...which is today. I have been anti pot for years and will always be BUT this is to remind the heads that think just because it might be legal that they cannot do dope and drive....pilot or whatever in the transportation industry.

I have personally seen it's effects on people I knew....sad too but as I said 'knew' because I do not associate with dopers.

Do you honestly believe those arrested in which the the officer deemed them to be under the influence of marijuana were on their way, or on the verge of killing someone? Or even driving reckless?

There are many articles out that accuse states around Colorado of "license plate profiling".

As someone whose lived on farms, partook in rodeos ( when I wasn't fat) ...

I've smoked weed...

Flip the coin..

As someone whose been to prison I've done smoked, snorted and eaten about everything.

I don't do anything anymore, last prison adventure my dad died alone while I was incarcerated. Put a stop to that #### quick.

Fact of the matter is, people grow up, life changes.

IMHO I feel OP shouldn't of ran to the screws, but hey.... That's why I work alone.
