You sure thats all that their seeing? A dismissed case won't stop you. Dismissed is better than a not guilty any day. I was arrested and literally charged with PAGES of crap, more than a handful were felonies. No issues getting TWIC. If you haven't pulled your own record do that and double check. Also double check the dispositions of those charges. Maybe they weren't dismissed the way they were supposed to be. When I moved to VA from MA and I got my concealed carry permit here the Police Dept could see all my charges from MA but the disposition of them was lost in the transfer, I had to get paperwork from MA to prove it. Sometimes stuff doesn't transfer right between states/agencies.

Just applied for my TWIC card. At IdentoGo which is ran out of back office of a medical clinic 2 days a week. Only took 15 minutes to finger print and take picture and awnser questions. They only take credit or debit cards or checks or money order. 4 weeks to get card sent to you.
I had issue on birth certificate with spelling of middle name. But they sent it in anyway. Hopefully the TSA will figure out that this is a minor spelling mistake by parents on birth certificate.

Go to the TSA site and read all of it. They give themselves wide latitude in making those determinations. Not just convictions.

I went for mine 2 weeks ago. They said 45 days for HME and 75 days for the TWIC card. My card was in my mailbox 6 business days later and the pin number came the day after that. Hopefully your appeal gets processed faster than 90 days like they said.

I would apply regardless of your past convictions. When I was at the TWIC office someone told me an awkward story about two guys. One had just gotten out of prison for murder and got a twic card and a job at the port, the other one was convicted of rape and was disqualified. I also read an article about the twic card, if you get disqualified you can file an appeal and from what I read 50 percent of people who appeal their disqualification get approved. So you have a 50/50 chance, good luck.

Not so, sorry but a felony does not bar you from getting TWIC. I know right now of a guy that did major time for a violent crime and today has both a TWIC and hazmat. In general if your crime was not terrorism related or if you are not still on probation/parole or its been more then 5 years since. You qualify for TWIC. All of this is covered on the website.Superhauler Thanks this.
