It's a flatbed. MPG is all over the place. I can haul 47k of flat steel beams and get 6. I can haul a 20k fork lift and get 4.8 due to the wind resistance.
Not sure if you read a previous thread of mine but I've had dragging trailer brakes for maybe years and never knew it until it really locked up. I just dead headed home with my bad clutch all the way across PA with non stop hills and got 8mpg. I have NEVER EVER got that

He put the new clutch in yesterday and it didn't work!!! The whole thing is back apart now. The clutch will not disengage and no clutch brake. It's like the linkage can't pull the clutch plates back far enough for it to disengage. They were out there with vernier calipers and micrometers measuring the old stuff and the new stuff. There is a 100,000 difference in the new clutch housing stand offs but don't think that should be an issue. Will post back when they figure it out.

Did they put the discs is backwards?

In a way, yes. It's stamped right on the clutch plates and the directions that the plates can go in any direction. My mechanic got on the Eaton hot line and the guy says there is a fat pad side. You can't tell without using a vernier caliper. On my transmission it must go in a certain direction. Me, I would have reamed out the guy on the phone for having to do the job twice. It's about 100,000th of an inch but that makes all the difference.
The new clutch has 6 pads instead of 4. My mechanic says it's a high performance racing clutch and will make me go faster. I don't believe him.
My clutch was fine before it broke. Too bad because I don't see any difference at all. I do see one difference though. I can put it into gear right away without having to wait for the clutch brake to take effect.
