I am going to Hirschbach Orientation on Monday November 13, 2015, which is my grandson's first birthday.
I am going to do the lease purchase thing. I am not going that way because I lack the resources to buy a truck, I am doing it because I want to see if a lease purchase through this company is a good thing or not. I am exploring. Those of you who know me, know that I have the business background to succeed but I tend to get fired. I am not a natural truck driver. So, if I can succeed in this venture, anyone can.
First the truck the recruiter talked about is an International Pro Star. Cummings engine. I do not know what year or how many miles it will have on it when I get there. I have an idea of what they are worth based on talking to dealers. Do I want to work for the company for three to five years and end up with a used truck? No. I am interested in making a living now. Not a used truck in the future. So the dangled carrot of a purchase does not tempt me.
Hirschbach is a reefer company. I like reefer work. I enjoy driving at night and reefer work is steady. They go to NYC and I don't mind going there. According to the recruiter, and we all know what kind of faith we can put in recruiters, the target goal is 2250 miles a week. That should make all payments and bring in $1000 pre tax a week. Last reefer company averaged 2900 per week. Hirschbach and my other company have many over lapping costumers, so I figure same miles.
I will post once a week and keep you all informed on how things work out.
Tomorrow, I take a rental car to Orientation. They are to reimburse me. I had the option of a bus ticket but that isn't going to happen ever again.
Oh, did everyone hear the Royals won the World Series.

Volvo with XE package before any International truck. Even if it has a Cummins.

K B fired me because of something I said. Yes it was a bit on the rude side but it was very funny. Unfortunately it was overheard by a supervisor who did not share my sense of humor. Customer complaint.
As to the Company driver route, right now it is not being offered. I want to do the lease purchase thing to see if it is a better deal. I can always get myself fired if I don't like it. Orientation is at East Dubuque, IL.
The Volvo 780 with the XE package is what I would purchase myself. I still do not know enough about the business to talk my father into releasing me the funds for a purchase. 59 years old and Daddy still has a say in my money. Of course looking back on it, that is why I still have money.pattyj Thanks this. -
I see nothing.

From your #'s you listed and the fact that you are not interested in owning a truck, from what I read, sounds like you'd be happier being a co driver. Sincerely hope it works out for you.

"I bought two trucks that arrive on July 14. I am in the process of setting up the company. I place another order for 8 more trucks. I plan on starting by the end of the year. It is mainly and experiment. I believe truckers are way under paid and the only way to compete with Mega's is to use a wheel and spoke method. I do not want to give away all the secrets but just say I plan on crushing CR England's and the like.
Right now, I am financing a STRIKE on Dec 22, 2014."
So what happened with above???truckon Thanks this. -
I sold the trucks before they arrived. Not my idea. Things changed do to a death in my family.
