The problem was already found and fixed in previous posts and the history.

06 Pete MXS acert with 18 speed transmission. Today when I got to my destination, I lost my clutch brake. I had to turn off truck to get it into gear to move. After a little while now it seems to be working properly. The clutch doesn't appear to be slipping that I know of. I still have good free play on the pedal and seems to feel fine. It's never done this to me before and was wondering if you guys would have an idea what happened or experienced this before.

From reading through this whole thread I'm beginning to fear the worst. When I get home I'm going to pull off the inspection cover and take a look inside and see if anything is broken and laying on the bottom. As far as I know it's original clutch, truck as 513,000 miles .

    Thanks in advance

You shouldn't have to shut the truck off to get it into gear with a failed clutch brake. It'd just take a few seconds for everything to slow down.

The clutch brake as always worked good on this truck. I always do wait for everything to stop to put it in gear however this time I put the clutch in all the way and waited five seconds and there's no way it was going to go into gear. I had to shut the engine off then put into gear so I can move again but after that now everything works fine so I'm puzzled.

Yeah that's what I started doing after I figured out I probably lost my clutch brake for good but now it's working again.

Here is s pic of what it looks like up there. Seems to be a lot of liquified grease or oil all over the place. I'm thinking some grease or oil got on the clutch brake and made it slip for me that one time. Everything else looks intact and nothing seems to be broken.

Going to clean up in that area really good and I'll see what happens. Anybody got any tips on what to use to clean all that grime, other then brake cleaner?

I know that you know your stuff but I've had my two piece clutch brake fall out and there was no way in any amount of time I could get the truck into gear.

Never seen that before. Usually you just gotta hold the pedal down for a few seconds. Learned something today.
