Case in point: Was making a delivery, driver ahead of me was really struggling to get backed in to dock. I offered some guidance and he chewed me out and said to leave him alone.

Next time, same place,a different driver struggling to back in, I sat in truck and watched. Driver then walks over to my window, and blasts me for not helping him, lol. Can't win.

Same way it seems if you try to warn them about trailer lights shorting out or what sounds like a flat tire slapping at the ground. "Why don't you mind your own business!" seems to be the standard response. Or the "You drive you're truck I'll drive mine". I even caught a dumb and dumber team once trying to back into what wasn't exactly a tight spot and straight line on top of that and the response. "Oh no we got it." Uh huh, luckily they only took out the trash can behind em.

Well, once you find out someone is stupid you shouldn't help them. It goes against the laws of nature. Darwin winners are hard wired to destruct. The thing is, they want an audience.

Ever notice how many people screw up, THEN come to TTR looking for advice? Ever have someone come in and ask your opinion of Moron Trucking, and they go to Moron Trucking anyway? Ever hear someone say, "You guys make trucking sound like rocket science" and they're not a trucker?

Remember that person who wanted to outfit a heavyhaul truck with super singles? He knew everything? If they know everything, why do they come here asking for advice? Ask for advice and then argue when the answer isn't what you want to hear? Sure sign that Stupid is in the building.

Don't help Stupid. Don't give him an audience. Let him go out and destruct on his own. I just wished that the IGNORE button would also prevent them from reading my posts. I'd really hate if one of my old posts prolonged Stupid's career and allowed him to destruct with a bigger audience around.

I started out hauling steel. Once I was getting a coil and the truck beside me didn't have racks set up, just a couple of boards on the deck. He was an O/O with plenty of experience driving, but just started with that flatbed company and had no training in steel securement. It must have been his first load, or at least his first coil.

I had to give him a crash course in about 15 minutes on how to set up a trailer to load a coil. I hope he eventually got some proper securement training. There is no substitute for that, no matter how much "experience" one has.

Not everyone was taught to keep their mouth shut and ears open.... By doing so at times you get the best education, but like you say some just want to be in the spotlight, look at me look at me!!

I agree, especially with the ignore part! It would be cool if there was a button that you could click to tag the expert with that only showed to the other "good guys"...it may save someone from steeping in it.

This....is really starting to get on my nerves. I was just involved with an accident where a driver drove his trailer into mine at a rest area. The Police report says that; "his nationality cannot be determined." The dude was named Ahmed and he claimed to be from Syria.

In the few years I have been driving I have noticed things getting rapidly worse.

Same here, but I'm curious: why would his nationality matter on a police report? Driver license and insurance info plus a description of the incident is all a cop should need. Was the dude unlicensed, with no proper ID?
