That's truth lol. I have drove it when it was very bad a few times and it always surprised me because everytime I,thought it was bad the next winter topped it by like 5x for like 4 winters lol. The going up part isn't that bad but coming down is a cringer for sure. East and west bound both suckeddhenry Thanks this.

With those wind gusts, what's the best speed to drive at?
-
If I'm grossing around 80k or close then I'll drive around 65 or how ever fast the wind lets me sometimes the wind will come from the side and front and really hold yea back. If I'm really light then I guess I play it by eye and feel. I'll drive what I'm comfortable with. 65mph gusts won't do much, but those 75+ are neck snappers and I'd slow down to like 35/45mph.Lightside Thanks this.

i usually drive 5 -10 mph slower, and if i have to cross a bridge, even a bit slower. i have many bridges on my route, on at least has very heavy cross winds.Lightside Thanks this.

F that.
When wind speed exceeds 40 mph, I jump off and run the super duper top secret underground interstate system.
mountaingote, Mr Ed, tucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
I drive whatever I feel comfortable at. Everybody's comfort level is different on the road depending on conditions and terrain. Probably 10 miles under about 55. If I don't feel safe then I will sit till the winds calm down. I have always said, " If I cannot maintain at least 45 mph...just park it. "Lightside Thanks this.

Yes, Do NOT do this. If you need to, you can put the alcohol in a spray bottle and douse your shoes/drums and linkages. But never just put liquid in the air line. That's what evaporators are for. They aerosol the alcohol so it doesn't just pool.
