This is: where you don't know what you don't know. Unfortunately, that is a literal phrase that means exactly what it says. I probably couldn't have answered your dilemma about leaving a truck, possibly for months, until I got into my own business. The answer is simple. When you own your own truck, you eventually develop business relationships with various service vendors and others (other trucking companies, terminals, etc). In the past week, I've recommended three shops all over the country, and used a new one recommended to me. I can be 99% sure that any one of those would cut me a deal to store a truck like that, for a reasonable fee or possibly even for free.
I kind of felt the same way about the newer trucks. You really ought to see about giving one a short trial. I understand your truck is your home; however, I'd quickly give up my familiar stuff for a short term just to see what's up with something new. That was kind of what I had to do with the rental trucks. Seemed like every time I turned around there was some little thing missing that's just "right there" on my truck LOL. It was a pain, but it was cool to try out something different. It could be your trial ends up like mine did, where I really was glad to get back into my old truck. You never know.HeWhoMustNotBeNamed, horsecrazychic22, Straight Stacks and 4 others Thank this. -
