Speaking of wind and Denver; when started out team driving with a load leaving going north toward Cheyenne on I25, a continuous strong wind in the same range was coming out of the west. A trucker in front of us must have been MT, as it looked as if his trailer was off-tracking 20-30 deg from his tractor---he never did slow down! Since then, there have been reports over the years of many trucks being blown off the road on the stretch..

Wind was bad up the 93 out of Well's, NV. I was sitting at 76k and it was still tossing me around like a rag doll.
-
Waiting really helped. It was still tossing me around but it wasn't unsafe like it was earlier. Sitting in Denver for my pick in the morning going to Indianapolis.
Fajo Thanks this. -
No load is worth driving in bad weather risking the driver's life, equipment damage, and for sure liability of others when feeling unsafe..which is also "the official co. line" of most of the big trucking companies..however, they will still pressure a driver to meet schedule regardless!! -
I've seen worse out of the shop. The ex-peepee head out of IF was really good at trying to pass the buck. I burned him a new cornhole in front of half his crew and the tire salesman. Tried to shift the blame to me on something that I had written up every 30K for the last 210K or so. I've had o-rings missing from filters, filters not changed period and the best was when the peepee tried to "clean off" a set of brake shoes after the inner axle seal let go and pumped the drum full and ruined the shoes, but no no, those still have life in them!
Talked to some guys I know over at his new shop, guess he isn't working on trucks yet, other than the new truck Knight bought him to make him happy about the move and he is using the shop as a storage unit. Hope he doesn't get anyone killed going down the Mountain with well lubed brakes. -
Knight bought him a truck because he stole ours from Idaho Fall's. I'm headed to IF this next week to finish getting dmg fixed from Bambi strike and get the truck serviced. If any of ya are up there come poke me! I'm sure most here already know my truck number.

My uncle works for Knight. He likes it there. But he's lazy too! Lol

Thanks for all the great posts! It was great to follow someones experience with Knight. I am going down to Phoenix to do CDL training next Monday with them. I will be out of the Salt Lake terminal. Thanks for helping me make the decision!
Misesian Thanks this. -
Salt lake is a decent terminal. A short walk away there is a move theater with a build your own burrito place nearby I like to go to when over there, Chinese delivery is good, and jimmy john's delivers there. So many options.
Fajo Thanks this. -
Did IF ever get that truck back? Because I swear I saw it last week when I was through there, dunno why he needs it, everybody delivers and are right there. Should have just got a contract with the Petro, they are used to working on Knight trucks LOL
