Are sleep meds legal to take?

i know that Melatonin is approved for pilots, it should be ok, but not sure about other products

 

I believe only codeine like Tylenol 3 will show up on drug test.

Tylenol PM, and ambien are fine.

I've taken ambien before. It's great if you can't sleep.

 

Friend of mine guzzles Nyquil. He doesn't measure the dosage, just opens the bottle and drinks about a third or more of it.

 

Many of the over the counter sleep meds are the same as cold and or allergy meds just a higher dosage. I would think any over the counter sleep med would be ok. Prescription sleep meds might be questionable.

 

I remember when I was young and a regular pot smoker I had friends who would resort to NyQuil when they ran out of pot.

They would drink a whole bottle of it.

I never did it, they told me I didn't know what I was missing.

But they could barely walk when they did it, I remember one girl chugged a bottle of NyQuil and went to the bathroom and I heard a Thud sound.

She fell off the toilet and was passed out and had peed all over herself.

 

Only take sleep aids when you are actually asleep, so you won't be asleep when you are awake...

 

They are legal to take ONLY when driving.

Codeine is a opium derivative, (like Morphine and Heroin) so unless you have a prescription and you notified your carrier about it promptly (as in immediately after getting the prescription) you could be in for a world of hurt as the tests they give can't really differentiate between them.
