Flatbed driver aren't known for their backing skills.

Keep an eye out for mud flaps that other drivers rip off. Cut up the rubber ones into strips and they make great edge protectors. Free and way better then the 2 dollar plastic ones.

Never understood why people think deck haulers can't back very well. I have put my trailers in places tighter than any loading dock.
-
LOL..... Usually it is with a crane one one side and a hole on the other and you have to turn around in the middle of a 2 lane road so you can back in.... LOLMacneil Thanks this.

Forget backing. I drove up one heck of a goat trial to get to a small mom n pop quarry. Backing does get tricky when you have a 6 foot tall 4 foot wide coil in the middle of your trailer. Got it to about 45* angle when I saw the trailer start to tip and slammed it into a forward gear. Totally different kind of driving.

And you're 12-14 ft wide, in a long wheelbase truck with a trailer that has the trailer wheels all the way to the rear.Macneil, RGN, cnsper and 1 other person Thank this.

A good recessed dock at a sheetrock plant will test anyone's backing skills.

That is no lie, Fletcher, Ok. I've not had any problems, but some folks will quit and get back in line. And it's worse if the whole line is watching
