It's in a 2006 t600 kenworth. I mounted my radio under the stock cb cubby hole so the radio and heat sink can get plenty of air circulation. I ran the 8ga. Ground and positive from the battery. I done it right though. Soldered The Ends and routed it like the factory.

Exactly the truck that i had 06 T600 with studio sleeper, i did not had ground issue fo the radio because i have grounded radio to the cab and can to the frame but i did had ground problem for my linear.

I ended up installing my radio and linear left side of passenger seat where seat belt buckle and my linear was behind the passenger seat, my ground was the bolt that hold the seat and underneath the cab i did run ground strap from the bolt to the frame.

Man that's GREAT INFO. I never thought bout being the pass seat. I been wondering where the heck I was gonna put that thing. Kenworth cabs suck for room. How long of coax from the amp to the cb did you have to use? How did you run it? I assume you just ran it up and behind the plastic trim. Whatcha think?

You might consider going with a larger wire for both + and -. I am runnning a connex 4300 to push a Sweet 16 and ran 0 gauge fine stran wire and a Wilson 5K. I keep the output on the radio down to where I am never putting out over 1K even though the amp is capable of more. You have to be carefull with overdriving your amp with the radio. Like stated above......make sure a competent technician matches your radio and amp together. Also study the info on this site: http://www.k0bg.com/
Bonding is a major issue when running this kinda power.

Radio mounted on steel bracket installed to the seat base and amp against the wall between seat and bunk but in the cab.

3FT jumper was enough since the distance between radio & amp was about 14 inches.

I did go through lot's of work to make it work but that's the only solution that i have found.

As Hayseed said find yourself and competent tech if you are not sure of what you are doing, 1K + juice might not be much for some but it is still lot's of power.

I have sold every amps that i had, i am at the point of only a good radio and good antenna is what i am looking for now.

Yeah I know you mean as far as having a dependable radio goes. I just wanted to play a little. Lol....learn something new while I'm at it.

I do have another question though. How long of a jumper wire are we allowed going from the amp to the radio? What I mean is, could I leave my radio where it is and then mount my amp behind the seat like you did? Just wondered what's considered to far between the amp and radio.

That's a really good question and i don't want to BS you on this one, i never had to use more than 3FT because i always had radio & amp close....

Some shops sell 3, 6, 9 jumpers, also some amps builders sell remote switch for amps....

Rabbiporkchop & Mike5511 could answer you on this topic both of these Gentlemens are a good source of knowledge in the radio world.

Well I guess I should mention this is a 6 pill and it's got 2, 8 ga. Positve wires and 2, 8ga. Ground wires going to it. Its got an ### kicker sticker on it. Guy tells me Its possible to get 1400 watt PEP on it. Build by stickman is what he told me. I'm trying to think what else I should say about my set up to give the most amount of info.

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of mounting in a good spot behind the seat, but still in the cab. Not the bunk and I WOULD like to keep my connex 4600 mounted where it's at which is under the factory cb cubby in the ceiling. I'm not sure how long of a jump I'd need, but I'm guessing 10 to 15 foot maybe. Not sure.
