The evil cold one still sports some pretty good rates. I ain't above lowerin' my standards until things improve... an' th' oil boys quit pretendin' they know anything about OTR freight, customer service, not trackin' mud everywhere, an' peeing on the fuel pumps.horsecrazychic22, chopper103in, HeWhoMustNotBeNamed and 4 others Thank this. -

Speaking of pickles... I stopped to get my PM done at the Wingfoot next to the Pilot at Piedmont SC (I-85 x35). I see some kind of big scene going on at the back of the lot. Big wrecker, fire and EMT, state police. Wow. Sometimes I wonder why some reporters even bother being reporters with a story like this. Truck was over the curb at the edge of the lot, and I guess ripped the tanks open when it landed after the hop. Another driver from the same company was walking out of the store. Story he heard was the guy pulled into a parking space and jumped out of the seat to take a leak in a bottle and forgot to set the brakes. I told him I guess he probably got tossed around pretty good if he was standing in the back with his pickle in his hand when the truck hit that curb LOL. You just can't make this stuff up!
Now whiling away the final two hours of my break at Greencastle, trying to decide if I feel like making something to eat, or just take a nap. I think sleepy is winning. I can make a sandwich that will taste just as good when I get to Not Pottsville.
Last night was a late one. I was getting sleepy around midnight and still had two hours to go. I usually avoid energy drinks and caffeine. I like the V-8 brand energy drinks on the rare occasion, because they don't have quite the spike and crash that red bull and others do. A little more easy on the system and last longer. Anyway, I had one of those for no effect. Then I remembered I had a pack of my secret weapon within reach: pepper jerky. Somehow the combination of chewing and mouth on fire wakes me right up, and keeps me going by nibbling on it. The stores should require a prescription for that stuff.TLG87, sshewins, horsecrazychic22 and 10 others Thank this. -
