Good for your husband, I am glad for him and you too , but I am telling people what they have done to me... no one I talked to at Indy or the Richmond terminal were getting 3000 miles a week, that is 8 days at Indy, going through orientation and waiting for codes to a "magtec" truck I offered to deliver instead of sitting there longer, and 3 days at Richmond because the truck I was picking up was not there, and no one knew what was going on with me there or in Indy... as far as the Log lady I have never met her and can't say anything either good or bad about her... but I can relate what happened to me , the no last check , the sitting 8 days and 4 days at Terminals the fact I was told to "just bring a weeks worth of clothes and we'll get you right back home to get your stuff" and was washing clothes in a sink in a motel in Independance OH because they were the only place in the area which took comchecks after the truck I picked up in Richmond the day before made it 670 miles before breaking down. that breakdown had me in a motel for 8 nights and was telling the truck was going to be done the next day 3 different times and when I went to get my sirius radio , pillow and sheets out, it was not even inside the dealership shop... or the fact after I contacted my DM after the breakdown I sat in a non running truck in a snow storm for 23 hrs waiting for them to relay the load so I could be towed, ended up sick as a dog, because I had no bedding, no cold weather gear other then my coat, I trusted them to get back to "get the rest of my stuff" and got no breakdown pay for sitting there through Easter weekend, never got paid for the toll I paid for to get to were I brokedown , never got my miles from Richmond to the pickup to the breakdown to the swap paid... Celadon is a joke to me, you want your husband working there that is up to you all,,, but I only drove for 3044 miles during the 6 days I actually drove while working there-and got paid for 2366 miles-- it happened to me and can happen to others--- I spent more money then I made while working there counting the car I rented to drive home, instaed of catching a bus back to Indy and hanging out there somemore, cut my losses and moved on , but I can and will warn others of my dealings with Celadon Inc. beware of the $1,000/week off Ad I should have known it was to good to be true...

the $1,000.00 is TRUE
-
are you a recruiter for them? or what.... at the pace they had me on I would have been 10 months to get a $1000.00 bouns,, I found a job closer to home I'll be home 2 days a week out for 5 days and I get the same per mile, I tell you how fast I get to 3000 mile here at the new company
-
No I am not a recruiter It took my husband less than 3 months to get his last $1,000
-
That is great for him, I wish you both the best that Celadon has to offer, may he get home safe everytime he goes out... may you both continue to be blessed in life and in Trucking... but I still think Celadon is a joke and nothing you say can make up for how that company treated me, I am happy for you, and glad that it did not happen to you,, as far as I am concerned I hope all the recruiters there get radiation tumors from their cell phones, at least an ear infection, or maybe they could all bite their lip while spewing the sales pitch??? prolly never happen but a guy can hope huh...

"He's turning in his truck this morning and coming home. He didn't mind so much the driving, but he just wasn't getting enough in the miles. I added up all the miles he's run and divided it by the weeks he's been there and he's only averaging about 2000 miles a week"
he couldn't get 3000 mile a week either??? and he was there almost a year???Last edited: Jul 8, 2008

I figured you might , seeing how the post was on this site, and you were part of the thread. I wasn't trying to pull something out and over on you, it is not between you and me, my problem is with the joke of a company I use to drive for, and your husband drives for now , I have nothing against him for driving for them , that is his choice. I have been upset from some of your posts on the thread I started here, "the $1000 is true" I never said they don't pay it, I said beware it looks to good to be true, meaning it is a recruiting tool to get drivers thinking the grass is greener than it really is..."every company has it's good and bad" anyone driving knows that. But what I shared here was only what happened to me, I have the logs, copies of the trip scan sheets, toll recipt, motel recipts, and the comcheck stubs with the date, amount and express codes, my cell phone records, I also have the frieghtliner dealership's card and the card of the taxi driver who took me back there the day I left and seen the truck outside of their shop not being worked on. You have pride for your husband and who he works for , that is great , but I can not for the life of me figure out how it relates to me or what Celadon did to me and is still not paying me what I am owed for work done??? My only wish here is to make other drivers aware of what happened to me, so that they might make a more informed choice then I made myself before signing on there...
again I wish no ill will towards your husband or yourself I just remind you that if you think Celadon is so great there is another section to this forum where you can start a thread about just that, without trying to hijack my thread with one line vague answers in rebut to what I and others have said which are not YOUR or your husbands experince or feelings toward the so called company. I wish you both a bright future and many blessings in trucking, have a great day... -
Well this thread is about Celadon my husband is happy with them. They didn't have to let us go to Laughlin,Nv for Easter. My husband's truck broke down last July in TX they didn't have to put us both up in a hotel for 2 days but they did . They have treated us both right
