Typical TMC nay sayer. I love the winter, and will only be idling my truck a couple hours a night, or parking at rv parks to plug in, simple solutions, that most don't even think about.

Thanks for trying to hijack. Good thing I'm the type of person that if you tell me I can't make something happen, it just feeds the fire.

Have been up north and midwest mainly, so already have had to deal with frozen tarps and straps. No big deal, just wake up earlier. The first time sucked though haha.

Thanks though, better luck to ya.

I'm curious about the RV park idea. This idea had crossed my mind when pondering O/O hotshot hauling. We have stayed at RV parks all over the country and I don't recall ever seeing a loaded semi or even a tractor unless it was one pulling a fifth wheel RV. I do recall that some of them specifically stated no semis. That said, we've done less traveling in winter. Some parks that remain open might allow a semi in order to generate revenue. Have you actually checked into the options?

One of my really good friends manages an RV park / campground. They too, have a sign stating no semis, but he also said if they call and ask, he'd gladly take the revenue. I have not stayed at one yet, but definitely plan on it. He said he'd hardly charge anything, because it's such a low draw on power anyways. Also, bear in mind, that a lot of places we deliver to will have outlets somewhere on the property. Just make sure you have a long extension cord haha. I personally hate parking at truck stops, due to other truckers, and nothing worse than being parked next to a reefer van all night. So I will either park at the consignee, or use Google Earth, and find somewhere close that the truck will fit.

You're looking for a whole boatload of trouble plugging your 1500 watt block heater into a consignee's building especially without permission! Just saying.

Thanks. Guess it's one of those find out on your own things. It's only 120v, so not that big of a deal, or draw. Now back to the actual topic, anyone got any questions?

Hi TW, you probably can't answer this, but I will ask anyway. Why don't they turn those dam trucks up a little bit. I drive a slow truck, but not that slow. Besides, diesel fuel is below $2 a gallon in some places this week.
