Like most things there are two sides and both have valid points. Of course, I have to side with the drivers on this one. :) They really have no choice in where they are sent to deliver and pick up. The real issue here is greed and poor city planning, not the drivers. They wanted the revenue and the jobs but did not want or plan for the side effects.

My problem here is the rhetoric and the blame game. Once again the drivers are being blamed for something that is totally out of their control, all drivers are being lumped together into one category, BAD, ......and no one is dealing with the real issue and offering a viable solution. The rhetoric is hateful and misdirected.

It goes back to my question a few days ago. Are some of these LEO's....and city governments... using these announcements as PR stunts to make themselves look better? "You know what the problem is ....it is big trucks and their horrible drivers. But don't worry about it, we are going to go after them!" That is the underlying message that most of these things are sending. I see it more and more every day. It is beginning to cause concern. The world is a crazy place full of crazy people. Last year there was a stand-off on an exit ramp between a 4-wheeler and a big truck. The 4-wheeler thought that the truck traffic had made him lose his job because he was always late for work. Too many people accept and buy in to this stuff........it puts another target on your back.....in my opinion.

It's like seeing a couple teenagers at the mall with droopy pants and decided lack of respect for themselves and others n then walking around saying 'kids today are no good' lol dadgum bad apples in society ruin it for everyone.

First time heading to Florida in a bigtruck with a load of frozen English muffins in the box. Should be a good time. 36 hours to go 850 miles. I like running hard like that ;-D the trick is gonna be getting OUT of Florida. Did well enough on the first couple legs of this run to be able to deadhead out a ways if I have to. Gotta get my tuckis back to Wisconsin for some a that high dollar beezness!

I haven't seen too many complaints lately about getting freight out of Florida ......maybe that's a good sign! :biggrin_25525:

I came here in 1999. I was stationed at NAS Oceana with VF-2. I live in Newport News now.

I moved to Newport News because it was a little cheaper than Virginia Beach.

Hopefully I will be back on the road this weekend. Been on medical leave since October. Hopefully I remember how to drive a big truck.
