No problem. Wherever you shut down for your 10 hour break is what your per diem rates are for the day.

How is it handled for Teams? I am currently in CDL training and am thinking about team driving.

I'm not a tax professional so I'm not the proper person to ask but a certified public accountant should be able to answer that question

Transportation drivers do not use the city by city, but the nationwide flat rate, which is $59.00 per day. see IRS notice 2014-57
SECTION 3. SPECIAL M&IE RATES FOR TRANSPORTATION INDUSTRY
The special M&IE rates for taxpayers in the transportation industry are $59 for any locality of travel in the continental United States (CONUS) and $65 for any locality of travel outside the continental United States (OCONUS). See section 4.04 of Rev.tompetty69 Thanks this. -
Now a days you can't even get a hotel room for that price
-
Then you don't understand what perdiem for transportation workers is. Hotel rooms are NOT part of it. They are a separate deduction.tompetty69 Thanks this.

$63 as of Oct. 1 still at 80%. up from $59 called M&IE for transportation workers.
