Geez,I'd hate to imagine if that driver didn't have that headache rack installed.

"Hmm, let's seee.... 0715... Pre-Trip... 0730... line up to drive time... 0745... Narrowly Escaped Death...."

 

That reminds me of a McElroy truck that cut off in Nashville a few years ago and load came through back of sleeper.

 

"We're just taking this load a few miles, let's just throw on one chain and call it good."

Moral: Slow down, we're in a hurry.

 

Actual conversation today:

Customer: "Boy, you sure are putting on a lot of straps."

Me: "I always put on enough to feel comfortable, then add another."

Customer: "Sure takes a lot of time."

Me: "Far less time than calling for a crane to get these valves back on the deck out on the road."

Customer: "..."

 

I'll just go drop this off and come back for the trailer.
